The Offshore Wind Academy (OWA) has been accredited by the International Accreditors for Continuing Education and Training (IACET), a milestone that affirms OWA’s commitment to delivering rigorous, high-quality professional education to the offshore wind industry.
OWA is accredited by the International Accreditors for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) and now offers IACET CEUs for its learning events that comply with the ANSI/IACET Continuing Education and Training Standard. IACET is recognized internationally as a standard development organization and accrediting body that promotes quality of continuing education and training.
To earn IACET accreditation, OWA underwent a comprehensive review of its training policies, instructional design processes, learning outcomes, assessment practices, and learner recordkeeping — benchmarked against the ANSI/IACET Standard across all nine standard categories. The rigorous process included both document review and a formal accreditation interview conducted by IACET Commission members.
“This recognition reflects the Academy’s commitment to developing high-quality, industry-aligned training at a time when the offshore wind sector requires a highly skilled and adaptable workforce,” said Serene Hamsho, President of the Offshore Wind Academy. “It establishes a formal standard for how our programs are designed, delivered, and continuously improved.”
Recognition is due to Sarah Collmus, Director of Training and Education, who led the accreditation effort. Her work encompassed the development of program documentation, alignment of instructional and governance processes, and coordination with assessors and advisory stakeholders. Her leadership was central to achieving compliance with IACET requirements.
“This achievement reflects the dedicated work behind our programs and our mission to empower individuals, professionals, and organizations to advance the offshore wind sector through knowledge and collaboration, supporting the global clean energy transition.”
“Together with our ANSI accreditation, this milestone reinforces our position as a trusted, high-quality education provider and reflects the tireless efforts of our team and industry partners over the past several years. We extend our sincere thanks to our partners and to the many learners who continue to engage with and strengthen our growing community.”
For professionals and employers in the offshore wind sector, this accreditation provides assurance that OWA’s certificate programs are structured, credible, and benchmarked against recognized best practices. It also strengthens the portability and recognition of credentials across organizations and markets.
